In a shocking incident that has stirred up a huge controversy among the Sikh community, a dance party was organized by Sayed Abu Bakar Qureshi, CEO of PMU Kartarpur Corridor on the premises of the sacred site of Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara hurting religious sentiments. Sikh leaders including BJP's Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara's Jagdip Singh Kahlon have condemned the "unacceptable" incident.

Notably, the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib holds immense significance for Sikhs worldwide, and any perceived disrespect is bound to evoke strong reactions from the Sikh community.
 
In the video, Sayed Abu Bakar Qureshi, CEO of PMU Kartarpur Corridor was seen dancing to a song number along with the Narowal Deputy Commissioner. Besides, Giani Gobind Singh, wearing a yellow turban, is also seated in the first row and enjoying the dancing by the guests at the party.
 
The incident came to light when Sirsa claimed that Sayed Abu Bakar Qureshi organized a dance party in the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib complex on November 18. The party, which went on for three hours, was organised at a distance of 20 feet from the Darshani Deori of Shri Darbar Sahib. He also accused that alcohol and meat were served at the party which was attended by 80 people including Mohammad Sharukh, Deputy Commissioner Narowal, and District Police Officer Narowal.
 
In a tweet, he said, "I strongly condemn the sacrilegious incident involving alcohol and meat consumption within the sacred premises of Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib. It's particularly disheartening that the Kartarpur Gurdwara committee administration was involved in this. Urgently calling @GovtofPakistan for thorough & swift action against all responsible people. The faith of minorities should not be continually undermined by the government of Pakistan."
 
"Sikh community worldwide feels betrayed by this disrespect to the sacred site where Guru Nanak Dev ji took his last breath. I demand swift accountability and action from @GovtofPakistan in this regard," he added.
 
 
 
Several Sikh community members have expressed shock over the dance party being held at the sacred place where Guru Nanak Dev breathed his last.
 
Jagdip Singh Kahlon, the General Secretary of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, has alleged that alcohol and meat were served during the party, which goes against the beliefs of the Sikh community. He strongly condemned the incident and urged the Pakistan government to take action against those responsible.
 
"Unacceptable! I strongly condemn the sacrilegious incident within the sacred premises of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib where a party organised involving alcohol & meat. @GovtofPakistan should take swift action against all responsible people," Kahlon posted on X (formerly Twitter).
 
 
Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh also called the incident as "unfortunate" and asked the Pakistan government to take strict action against the perpetrators. "This is really unfortunate. Pakistan government should know that Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara is a place of worship for us. They should take action against those responsible" Giani Harpreet Singh said.
 
The Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) spokesperson, Gurcharan Singh Grewal reiterated the Sikh community's call for taking action against the culprits, "The entire Sikh community condemns this shameful incident. Pakistan's government should take action in this matter. I request the Jathedar of Akal Takht Kartarpur Sahib to clear their stand on this. so that such incident would not happen in future".

In a similar incident in 2021, a Pakistani model's bareheaded photos within the Gurdwara complex sparked widespread criticism on social media.
