"It is with great sorrow and grief that we announce the death of a son of Dimona, Halel Solomon, in the battle in Gaza," said Dimona Mayor Benny Bitton in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

"We share the parents', Ronit and Mordechai's, and the sisters', Yasmin, Hila, Vered, and Shaked's, grief."Halel wanted to make a difference and joined the Givati (Brigade).

Halel was a loving son who regarded his parents with admiration. He believed in everlasting giving, modesty, and humility, and possessed enormous positive traits.

"The entire city of Dimona is mourning his death," Mr Bitton wrote.

Dimona is a town in southern Israel known for its nuclear reactor, but it is also known as "Little India" due to the huge concentration of Indian Jews in the area.

Members of the Indian community described him as "a young man with pleasant manners and a very bright future ahead." They were very saddened by his death and the deaths of other young Israelis "fighting a just war for Israel's existence."

At least 11 Israeli troops have died in the Gaza conflict, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called as a "difficult war" with "painful losses," but pledged to fight "until victory."
"We are fighting a difficult war."This is going to be a lengthy fight. "We have so many significant accomplishments, but also so many painful losses," Mr Netanyahu remarked.

"We understand that each of our soldiers represents an entire world."From the bottom of our hearts, the whole Israeli nation embraces you and your families. We are all here for you throughout this difficult time."Our soldiers have died in the most just of wars, the war for our homeland," Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu stated.

"I promise the citizens of Israel: We will complete the work - we will continue until victory," he went on to say.
On October 7, at least 1400 Israelis were murdered in a horrific Hamas onslaught on Israel's southern towns.During that unexpected incursion, they also took at least 240 individuals prisoner.

Israel, supported by the US and other Western nations, waged war on Hamas, which has occupied the Gaza Strip since 2007, with two stated aims in mind: the eradication of the terror organization and the release of the captives.

More than 8,000 Palestinians have perished in Gaza since Israel started a counter-offensive, first with massive air strikes and then with gradually increasing ground assaults over the previous three days.
