Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari detailed the IAF's ambitious procurement plans, which include a wide range of indigenous defensive equipment, at a media conference. In the future years, the IAF will get long-range surface-to-air missile systems, new fighter planes, enhanced combat aircraft, light combat helicopters, tactical ballistic missiles, trainer aircraft, and close-in weapon systems.

The acquisition of indigenous equipment for the IAF is expected to be expensive, with a budget of up to 3 lakh crore.
Notably, the IAF would spend Rs 41,180 crore this year alone on modernisation and expansion of its capabilities.

Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari underscored the Indian Air Force's steadfast commitment to protecting India's borders, notably along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. He stated that the situation along the LAC remained the same as last year, requiring the IAF to maintain a steady presence along the disputed border till total disengagement is accomplished.
