The Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor landed in big trouble on social media after the actress bought a fuel-guzzling Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica. worth Rs 4 crore on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.

As soon as photos and videos of the actress with her new car went viral on the internet, netizens started trolling the actress who gifted herself a fule-run car, as she is the same person who had protested against the construction of a Metro car shed in the Aarey forest belt several years ago.

Netizens schooled her for using a fuel-run car when she herself advocated for saving the environment a couple of years back.

"Selective activist of the environment" Shraddha didn't want a car shed and opposed the Metro project which is essential for common Mumbaikars but didi khud Luxurious car leke ghumegi," a user wrote.

Another mentioned, "Shraddha Kapoor buys a Rs 4 crore Lamborghini that drinks fuel and spews CO2. Is this the same Shraddha Kapoor who protested against the cutting of trees in Aarey forest?"

It should be noted that the mileage of the recently bought Rs 4.1 crore (ex-showroom) worth car is 7.1 km which will lead to higher CO2 emissions. A study of 1,500 drivers found that over the course of a year, the Lamborghini Murcielago emits an amount of CO2 equivalent to felling a football pitch-sized forest of trees. The Lamborghini emits exactly five times more CO2 per kilometre than the car named Green Car of the Year, the 99g/km Toyota iQ.

In 2019, she had argued against cutting trees and wrote on Instagram, “This is wrong and should not be happening” and “Mumbaikars wake up”.

However, now, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) is gearing up to start a trial run of the first phase of Metro Line 3 between Aarey and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in November.

The development of the car shed at Aarey faced lengthy disputes, causing delays, before it was eventually authorised to resume.
