Gaza, Oct 19: In a series of targeted operations, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has now eliminated the top commander of Hamas Major General Jihad Muheisen in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City. It is pertinent to mention that Muheisen and his family were killed when their home was bombed by the Israeli Air Forces.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has not yet commented on this report, however, according to report by Hamas, it was said that Major General Jihad Muheisen, the head of Hamas-led security forces, died in an airstrike, according to a report by Hamas. The bombing on his house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City, also killed his family, they added.

The IDF has intensified its efforts to dismantle Hamas's military capabilities, having eliminated at least 9 Hamas commanders and key figures in the last 12 days.

Recently, Ayman Nofal, a member of Hamas' General Military Council and the head of its military wing's Central Gaza Brigade, was also killed in an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza's Bureij refugee camp, announced the militant group on Tuesday.

Nofal is reportedly the most high-profile militant to be killed in Israel's relentless airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which are said to be targeting Hamas hideouts, infrastructure and command centres. He is known to be a close associate of Mohammed Deif, the leader of Qassam Bridages, Hamas' military wing.

The Air Force said that Nofal was responsible for directing 'several terrorist attacks' against Israel and also supervised Hamas' rocket launches targeting areas populated by uninvolved citizens. He was also involved in the production and development of weapons, partnered in several attacks and even participated in the kidnapping of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

IDF is now actively pursuing the mastermind behind a major October 7th terror attack orchestrated by Hamas. Additionally, Israel has conducted airstrikes on military targets along the Lebanese border in response to previous incidents.
