Srinagar, Oct 17: Sangeeta Dhar, who was born into a Kashmiri Pandit family, got emotional after visiting her abandoned home in Srinagar after 30 years. The actress shared a video on her social media handles while giving a glimpse of her old house. While giving a tour of the house and recalling old memories, the actress got emotional.

It is pertinent to mention that Sandeep comes from a Kashmiri Pandit family that migrated overnight from their homeland in 1990 as radical Islamists had unleashed terror against Kashmiri Hindus.
 
It was an emotional and surreal moment for Sandeepa Dhar, who visited her abandoned Srinagar house after almost three decades. The actress has often shared her ordeal when her family was forced to leave her hometown overnight in 1990.
 
The actress shared the video on X while giving a tour of her house and wrote, "30 years back, my family was forced to run overnight from Srinagar, so we packed whatever we could in just 1 suitcase & fled. And now, 30 years later we returned to whatever remains of our home. The empty house stands & What remains are the memories that we had made almost 3 decades ago. And this time we don’t have to run. Hopefully never ever!"
 
 
 
In the video, she shared her nostalgia and said, "After so many years, let me take you guys along with me. I’ll show you the house, it feels surreal."
 
After the release of Vivek Agnihori's 'The Kashmir Files', Sandeepa had shared a post and recalled her family's plight after watching the film. The actress had shared a lengthy note on Instagram with pictures of her Kashmir home. She wrote, "The day they announced that Kashmiri Pandits should leave their women behind and leave Kashmir, my family decided to flee their homeland, hidden in the back of a truck, with my young cousin sister hidden under the seat behind my father's feet for safety, quietly in the middle of the night."
