Patna, Jan 03: In barely five months of the formation, the gap in Mahagathbandhan (grand coalition) in Bihar seems to have widened between the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Janta Dal United (JDU), with both parties engaging in a verbal spat against each other.

RJD’s MLA and former Agriculture Minister Sudhakar Kumar, after being removed from the Cabinet, has been attacking Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, thus fueling speculation that everything is certainly not well in the ruling coalition.

The entire controversy erupted following the deaths in Bihar’s Chhapra that were caused due to the consumption of hooch. After the incident, Sudharkhar Kumar hit out at the Bihar CM, calling him a dictator and accusing him of genocide. JDU’s Upendra Kushwaha took a swipe at the RJD’s MLA, warning him to watch his words and reminding Tejaswi Yadav of the Jungle Raj in Bihar. "Nitish Kumar showed the courage to stand up against the Jungle Raj in Bihar," said the JDU leader, further adding, "he said the sooner such statements stop, the better it would be for the coalition." Meanwhile, the BJP jumped into the controversy claiming that both parties have trust issues.

“Nitish cheated Lalu thrice, and both the leaders don’t trust each other. Sudhakar Singh is criticizing CM Nitish at the behest of Lalu,” said senior Bihar BJP leader Sushil Modi.
