Chennai, January 03: In a major development, the female police constable, who earlier filed a police complaint against the two Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) cadres for molesting an on-duty constable during an event, has now taken back her complaint. It is being said that she withdraw her complaint after both DMK leaders apologised to her.

The incident allegedly took place at a DMK meeting near the Dasarathapuram bus stand in Chennai’s Saligramam.
During the event, DMK cadres started misbehaving with a female police constable. Towards the end of the event, the woman constable was spotted crying and the two suspects were rounded up by the police. However, DMK cadres created a ruckus and officials did not detain the suspects either. The video of the incident that took place on Sunday (December 31) has been going viral on social media.
 
 

As soon as the incident went viral, the opposition slammed the ruling DMK over how the case was handled and stated that CM Stalin only remained a silent spectator. BJP leader, Annamalai also took to social media and slammed the state government saying, "Disgraceful state of affairs in Tamil Nadu. Governance is in deep slumber. "
 

Following the incident, the female police constable filed a police complaint against the DMK leaders under several sections of the Indian Panel Code (IPC). The woman constable was supposed to be called for an inquiry today, but she withdrew the case after the suspects apologised.
 
However, it is being said that she took her complaint back under the pressure of the M K Stalin-led Tamil Nadu Government.
