NB EXCLUSIVE: News Bharati to soon broadcast interview with Dr. Koenraad Elst on 'Hindutva'

 

Pune, Jan 16: News Bharati is glad to announce having hosted Dr. Koenraad Elst for an Exclusive interview regarding his views on Hindutva movement in India, Islam, Christianity and political history of India. The date of broadcast of the interview has not been announced yet, however, the broadcast will certainly happen shortly.

 

 

 

 

Born in Belgium in a Catholic family, Dr. Koenraad Elst has earned MA degrees in Sinology, Indology and Philosophy. Sinology, or Chinese studies, is an academic discipline that focuses on the study of China primarily through Chinese philosophy, language, literature, culture & history. Indology, also known as South Asian studies, is the academic study of the history and cultures, languages, and literature of the Indian subcontinent, and as such is a subset of Asian studies. In the Netherlands, the term Indologie was used to designate the study of Indian history and culture in preparation for colonial service in the Dutch East Indies.

 

With support from his family of four, Dr. Elst has worked as a Journalist and Columnist in Foreign Affairs, mostly freelance, punctuated by stints as an 'Assistant' in the Belgian Senate and as a 'Guest Professor' in two reputed universities of India. His then-dissident findings on Ayodhya made him a target of 'cancel culture', but also opened the doors of Hindu assertion for many stalwarts. He has played a pioneering role in the "Aryan Homeland" debate.

 

His Ph. D. work was made available in the form of two books: 'Decolonizing The Hindu Mind', and, 'Who Is A Hindu?'. He has also written on very different themes, altogether 30 books, numerous papers, and contributions to collective research volumes, also in his Dutch mother tongue.

 

 

 

 

Considering his areas of expertise, Dr. Elst has an extensive insight and interest in the history and development of Hindu Dharma and Hindu philosophy. Besides, as an Orientalist, Dr. Elst has studied Islam as well as Christianity profoundly. Therefore, listening to him speak on these topics is an intellectual treat.

 

More importantly, today India stands at a position where it is dealing with the issues of illegal migrations of Muslims, Islamist violence as well as the growing impact of Christian Missionary activities, that are particularly targeting Hindus in India as well as across the globe.

 

In order to find a solution to these growing problems, it is necessary to understand the two cultures and their philosophy to the depths. And Dr. Koenraad Elst is the right person to interact with for this purpose.
