Last year one hashtag got super popular, and it impacted the entire advertisement world. Yes, we are talking about #NoBindiNoBusiness. Famous columnist and writer Shefali Vaidya started this campaign through her Twitter and soon it became a national campaign. It was so impactful that brands had to take it into the consideration. And this year we can see that brands are being extra careful so that they should not hurt Hindu sentiments. Thanks to Shefali Vaidya this change was possible.
2. Fab India: Another brand that promoted its products at Hindu festivals by naming it “Jashn - E - Bahara” last year, which was a huge disappointment for the entire Hindu community. After #NoBindiNoBusiness got viral this year, they gave their campaign a new name “A splash of colors” Where the models are wearing bright yellow and saffron outfits, having smiling faces,s and wearing a big prominent bindi. #NoBindiNoBusiness really works, isn’t it?
3. Malabar Golds: Another brand is Malabar Golds. Which recently posted their ad. In which the model is looking happy and wearing a big prominent Bindi on her forehead. This is the clear impact of #NoBindiNoBusiness. People are spreading this on Twitter, and creating an awareness. This has become a national level campaign now.
4. PNG: Poona Gadgil is a famous Jewellery brand in Maharashtra. And Last year their top model Sonali Kulkarni was not wearing a bindi in their Diwali special campaign. After #NoBindiNoBusiness got viral PNG took a notice of it and this year, their top model Actress Mrunal Thakur is looking beautiful in her Bindi Look in the Diwali special campaign. This is the impact of mass participation.
Other brands are also scared of the masses boycotting their brands and products because of hurting Hindu sentiments. So they are also making sure that they do not compromise on such things. If you also see any #NoBindi advertisement of brands promoting products on Hindu festivals make sure you spread awareness about #NoBindiNoBusiness and boycott the brand at least till they don’t take your opinion seriously. Thanks to one woman Shefali Vaidya who brought all this into the limelight.
