According to a report, Suresh alleged that she was asked by the UAE Consulate to talk to the Chief Minister to facilitate the travel of a UAE national, who was allegedly caught with a Thuraya satellite phone, which is banned in India.

"On that day, I got a telephone call from the UAE Consulate officials (in the state capital city) asking me to speak to Vijayan on this case. So I called his secretary M. Sivasankar and informed him about it and he said, he will speak to Vijayan. In 5-10 minutes, I got a call from Sivasankar asking me to send an official to the police station to get a written affidavit. I was asked to give a similar affidavit to the Consulate and I did the same with the concern and consent from Shivasankar," Suresh told the private agency.

Suresh alleged that Vijayan supports 'every illegal terrorist activity for smoothening the business requirements of his daughter's interests'. Suresh is the prime accused in the Kerala gold scam, that involves the seizure of 30 kilograms of 24-carat gold worth Rs 14.82 crore at the Thiruvananthapuram Airport in July 2020. The diplomatic bag from which the gold was recovered, was being delivered to the UAE consulate in Thiruvananthapuram.

Suresh, an ex-UAE consulate employee was probed in connection with the matter. Officials probing the Kerala gold scam claimed that it was the first time in history that such a large-scale smuggling attempt happened under the name of a foreign nation's diplomatic office.
