"Inspired by her husband who came from family of aviators, Sarla Thukral wished to follow his footsteps. When women flying aircraft was unheard of, Sarla received her aviation pilot license, at 21.
She completed 1000 hours of flight time to obtain her A license, also a first for women. The Second World War brought her career to a standstill, but she later went on to become a successful businesswoman.
