Congress again puts Nehru Filter, changes Twitter's DP with a picture of ex-PM and Tricolour

Proving again that they put Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru before the nation, Congress changed the profile photo of its Twitter account to an image of Jawaharlal Nehru holding 'Tiranga', after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several BJP leaders made the 'Tiranga' their profile picture on social media platforms. 

 

 

Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, Congress general secretaries Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Jairam Ramesh, and the party's social media accounts put a photograph of Nehru with the tricolour as their display picture.

 

Congress tweeted, "The tricolour is in our hearts, it is in our veins as blood. On December 31, Nehru with the tricolour.1929, Pandit Nehru while hoisting the tricolour on the banks of river Ravi said, 'Now the tricolour has been hoisted, it should not be bowed'. Let us all make this tricolour our identity, which gives the message of the unbroken unity of the country. Jai Hind."

 

 

 

Among the other party leaders who changed their DPs in the run-up to Independence Day were Pawan Khera and Supriya Shrinate. The official Twitter handle of the party as well as that of the Congress Seva Dal and other party-related organisations also changed their profile pictures.

 

Earlier, in his monthly radio broadcast Mann ki Baat, the PM had urged all to use the 'tiranga' as a display picture on their social media accounts between August 2 and August 15 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's Independence.The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the spirit of Jan Bhagidari.
