Kochi, August 19: It seems the rift between the Kerala government and governor Arif Mohammad Khan is intensifying day by day as the ruling CPI (M) alleged that Rajbhavan-based political moves are being made to topple the left dispensation.
This just comes after the governor, stayed the controversial appointment of Malayalam Associate professor at Kannur University. It should be noted that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's private secretary K.K Rajesh's wife Priya Varghese has been appointed as the Associate Professor in the Malayalam Department by Kannur University.
The governor took the action after the Save University Campaign Committee wrote a letter to Khan Alleging that Priya was given preference over deserving candidates.
In the letter, the committee pointed out that Priya Varghese had the lowest research score, fixed as per the UGC norms, among six candidates who had applied for the post in the Malayalam department in November last year.
In addition to this, the CPI (M) is also up upset over the governor's decision not to sign many ordinances.
Expressing his disappointment over the latest decision of the governor, the CPI (M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan alleged that the RSS has a role in the anti-government moves.
"CPI(M) is facing new political challenges (in the state). RSS is working on an agenda for the next three years. Delhi is the center of such activities. RSS offices are headquarters of this (the anti-government moves)," Balakrishnan alleged at a party function here.
