TVF has always created content that touches your heart, be it, pitchers, Permanent roommates, or Panchayat Series, we love TVF because of its relatable content and the emotion that it carries. And this love is only going to increase with its latest web series Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt. Ltd. A series which is just like its name sweet and sour. A series that you must watch.

saas bahu achhar

This is the story of a mother. Who is building her life from scratch for herself, for her kids. Her name is Suman. A divorced woman, who had to see the affair of her husband and let her set life and kids go, because of his second marriage. No, I am not telling you the story of Anupama or Aai kuthe kaay karte. The theme may look similar but it is so much different in many ways. So now Suman is living away from her home, her children, and her sweet and sour mother-in-law. She wanted to take her children with her however she was not financially stable, so she asked her husband to take care of their children for one year. Meanwhile, she will set up her pickle business and get her children back. This entire story is showing her struggle and her journey from being nothing to creating a huge business of her “Wonder Achaar”.

Situated in Dariyaganj Delhi, Suman’s husband Dilip works in a food company. He marries Manisha, the Mother of a little boy Vivaan, his love of life. In spite of having his wife Suman and kids Juhi and Rishu, along with his Mother Amma Ji. The family is shattered. And living an entirely different life.

This was about the basic storyline. But this series has so much, small small incidents, and small reactions that catch your attention now let’s talk about that.

Things that I loved in this series :

1. The portrayal of a stepmom: Unlike the preconceived notion in our society, in this series, the stepmom is not the evil one. Yes, she is also a divorcee, married to another married man with kids. However, she tries her best to be the woman of that family. She takes care of all three children, teaches them when it is needed and loves them unconditionally. Her maturity, her decisions, and the way TVF presented Maneesha is breaking the stereotypes and you will not hate this character just because she is a stepmom. Dialogues like “Sumaniya Tooti, Ammaji aap toote, vaise hi hum bhi toote, lekin judta wo hi hai jo tootata hai…!” touches your heart. Maneesha is the character from which you learn a lot.

2. Suman’s practical struggle: They showed how it is to be a divorcee woman, living alone and trying to stand on her feet without adding the cliche drama to it. Without society taunting the woman or character assassinating her. They showed the practical struggle Suman went through, from not having confidence in marketing her pickle to being a businesswoman who makes sure about the branding and packaging of her product, she gives an interview and shares her journey they showed it all. You can connect with it somehow.

3. The bond between Suman and her Ammaji: Suman’s Ammaji is her mother-in-law, who knew that her son had done injustice to her daughter-in-law. And that’s why she stands strong with Suman in spite of all odds. From motivating her for her business to practicing marketing with her. From actually going there with Suman on the bus to the bus to sell pickles to actually being there and becoming an active part of her business. She has done it all. She even did something huge and unethical to build money for Suman’s large order. The way they talk to each other, and address “Budhiya” and “Sumaniya” each other you can’t stop adoring them. At the same time, Ammaji is also connected later on with Maneesha and it is just a treat to watch Ammaji on screen.

4. Cast and Dialogues: The entire cast did an amazing job and justice to their characters. You will see Anoop Soni for the first time in such a mean character, you will genuinely not like him as Dilip and this is the success of his acting. At the same time Amruta Subhash did an amazing job as Suman, the illiterate desi woman who knows nothing but how to run the house, her transformation is worth watching. Anjana Sukhani was fabulous as Maneesha and loved the way she portrayed a stepmom’s character which is not unreal. Manu Bisht as Juhi played a teenage girl and she did 100% justice to her character so as Shreyansh Kaurav as Vivaan and Nikhil Chawla as Rishu who played a young boy with a disturbing mindset due to a dysfunctional family situation.

But you will adore and love Ammaji the most. Yamini Daas is superb as Ammaji. She is adorable and her theth desi accent and language are treat to ears. Another character that I loved is Shukla Ji who helps Suman in her business. And this character is played by Anadeshwar Dwivedi. If you remember Tanu’s friend’s annoying boyfriend from Permanent Roommates you will know about whom I am talking.

It is a 6-episode web series. And every episode will keep you hooked. Somewhere you will feel that the series is a little slow. But I feel it is to grab that emotion and vibe. And somewhat it is important for the performance of characters. This series is directed by Apoorva Singh Karki. And we loved his work.

Overall a must-watch series. You can binge-watch this series and you will surely love this one. This series deserves 4.5 stars. So let us know if you have watched this series, and did you like it. In the comments below.
