Former Vice Chancellor of RTM Nagpur University Dr. S. N. Pathan addressed the inaugural session of the MRM workshop on connecting with the roots in Delhi.

New Delhi, Aug 1: Giving a clarion call to connect with our roots to effectively bury the spectre of fundamentalism, radicalism, and communalism, and to bridge the increasing gap between the communities and religions in the country, the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) has announced the launch of its nationwide campaign against fundamentalism.

The objective of this country-wide campaign is to make people realize their real roots and encourage them to connect with those roots to experience the emotional integration as "One Nation - One People - One Constitution - One Flag.

The campaign was officially launched in presence of over 1000 activists of MRM drawn from across the country representing all the states at Gandhi Smriti Darshan, Rajghat here on July 23rd. Along with this the MRM also announced their "Ghar-Ghar Tiranga-Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign in presence of MRM Patron and Guide Indresh Kumar and other dignitaries including former VC of Nagpur University Dr. S N Pathan, who chaired the inaugural session of the workshop, Prof. Rizwan Khan, Dean and Head of the Department of Aligarh Muslim University, Goswami Sushil Muniji, Sudhir Gupta, MP from Mandsaur (MP) NCMEI Member Dr. Shahid Akhtar, MRM National Convener Mohd Afzal and others.

A good number of intellectuals, religious persons, and activists formed the jam-packed audience at the Satyagraha Hall in this first-of-its-kind event.

The learned speakers urged the audience to recall their roots, identify them and connect with them to make India a riot-free and peaceful country. They said that all their ancestors and traditions are connected with the Sanatana Dharma and India since the ages. They were of the opinion that over 90 percent of the Indian Muslims have their roots in the Sanatana Dharma which is now known as Hindu Dharma and Hindustan.

Indresh Kumar reiterated that we all were, are, and will ever remain Hindustanis. It is necessary that our character should be unblemished.

Indresh Kumar appealed to participate in the "Ghar-Ghar Tiranga" campaign which would be launched from August 1 to 15. The formal launch of the campaign was executed by organizing a short Tiranga Yatra at Rajghat on that day.

Hitting hard at communalist leaders like Asduddin Owaisi, Moulana Taukir Raza, and Badruddin Ajmal, Indresh Kumar also targeted organizations like the PFI, Muslim League, and Muslim Personal Law Board for fanning separatism and violence in the country.

He asked "Do these leaders or organizations believe in the concept of "Madare Watan Hindustan and hail Mother India?" He said our identity is connected with our nation and our DNA is also the same but leaders like Owaisi do not recognize it and incite people by injecting hatred and separatist feelings. He said when someone asked Owaisi about his family genealogy and it was known that some four generations ago his ancestors were Hindus but they were converted to Islam!

Giving a novel definition of DNA Indresh Kumar said our identity is decided by 'D' (dreams), 'N' (nation), and 'A' (ancestors). Giving an example to drive his point home he said when we dream at night they are related to our mother tongue and geography and nobody has any control over the dreams; they are governed by the divine power.

He said that we aim to create riot-free, pollution-free, illiteracy-free, unemployment-free, untouchability-free Hindustan where there will be no place for violence, hatred, and riots but for this we will have to connect with our roots. The moment we connect ourselves with our roots all our differences will vanish and we will march ahead on the path to make our motherland world leader, he said.

A host of over 25 speakers from different parts of the country also voiced in unison that their roots are in this land and culture and they share the same ancestors. Therefore, there is a need to realize our roots and connect with them to make India a riot-free and violence-free nation.

Prominent amongst them included MRM National Conveners Mohd Afzal, Dr. Shahid Akhtar, Dr. Majid Ahmed Talikoti, Dr. Tahir, Dr. Mehtab Alam Rizvi, Prof. Firoza Begum, Adv. Ali Afzal Chand, former PCI member Raza Rizvi, Prof. Tasneem Patel from Aurangabad, Irfan Ali Pirjade from Mumbai, Chairman of Uttarakhand Madarsa Board Bilal-Ur-Rahman, Shalini Ali, Shahnaz Afzal, Prof. Rizwan Khan, Prof. Maksud Ahmad Tomar from Delhi, Reshma Hussain from Jaipur and many others.
