Darshan Kumaar wins Dadasaheb Phalke award for best actor in The Kashmir Files

Mumbai, July 29: Bollywood actor Darshan Kumaar has recently won the Dadasaheb Phalke icon films international award as best actor for his latest film 'The Kashmir Files', in which he has beautifully essayed the role of Krishna Pandit, a Kashmiri Hindu college student.

Kumaar, through a Tweet, expressed his gratitude for the award saying, "Feeling Humbled and honoured to receive such a prestigious award Dadasaheb Phalke icon films international award as a best actor for #thekasmirfiles Thanks a ton to my producers , director, entire cast n crew n each one of you for yur love n support."
 
 
In the movie, Kumaar is seen playing the role of Krishna, a Kashmiri Hindu college student, who is raised by his grandfather and shielded from the knowledge of the circumstances of the death of his parents. After his grandfather's death, he, who had come to believe at college that the exodus was benign, is driven to uncover facts of his family's deaths.
 
 
Kumaar made his Bollywood with the movie Mary Kom, opposite Priyanka Chopra Jonas, in the year 2014. Since then, Kumaar has delivered many wonderful performances, some prominent ones being in NH10, and popular web series, The Family Man.
