Smriti Irani was a household name 20 years back as Tulsi when Kyu Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi first aired on television. Time changed so, did she? She entered politics and won the Amethi seat which was congress’s super seat. She became a terror name for the opposition in Parliament because of her roaring voice and opinions as a member of parliament Today Smriti Irani’s video is getting viral where she is asking Sonia Gandhi to apologize for disrespecting the newly elected President of India Draupadi Murmu. This was not the first time when she roared against wrong.
Here are the 4 times when Smriti Irani shouted against wrong and made her point loud and clear :
1. Opposition using rape as a political weapon: in 2019 when the Hyderabad Rape case accused were encountered, the opposition was raising questions, Smriti Irani roared in parliament and said, “they were quiet when rape was used as a political weapon in west Bengal panchayat elections. She lashed out at opposition members who were making statements on rape cases and how wrongly the police have handled this situation, “Jo log rape ko ek political weapon ki tarah use kar rahe hain, use communal issues se jod rahe hain, mandir ka ullekh kar rahe hain wo aaj yaha aakar bhashan denge rape par?”

2. Smriti Irani on Rohit Vemula Case: Who else can forget Smriti Irani’s roaring speech in parliament on Rohit Vemula’s suicide? When the opposition tried to bury this case under castism and communalism. Smruti Irani shook the entire parliament with her emotion-filled yet aggressive speech. She said, “Political parties are busy trying to use the death of a child [Rohith Vemula] as a political weapon. The committee which suspended Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula was not constituted by our government, but by the UPA regime. I looked at the case as the death of a child and not as a death of a Dalit. My name is Smriti Irani. I challenge you to identify my caste. I am enraged by the manner in which a child's death (Rohith Vemula) is being used as a political weapon. There she was speaking as a woman, as a mother first and then as a parliamentarian.
3. When she said about JNU “College Campus should not become Rajneeti ka Akhada” : On JNU incident Smriti Irani said, “ “I had said it earlier and reiterating it now that educational institutions should not be made ‘rajiniti ka akhada’ (political battlefield) as it affects the life and progress of our students,” Irani also said about violence in the campus. “I hope students will not be used as ‘rajnitik mohre’ (political tools)”. Whenever she comes in front of the mike, she makes a remarkable statement that people can never forget easily.
4. Lashed out against disrespect of newly elected President of India Draupadi Murmu: And recently when congress leaders disrespected newly elected President of India Draupadi Murmu by calling her Rashtra Patni, Smriti Irani aggressively asked congress leaders, Sonia Gandhi and other opposition members to apologize to President of India. She said it is a disrespect of a woman, it is disrespect of the poor and tribal.
