Amit Shah held intelligence meets on security arrangements of Amarnath Yatra

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Tuesday (May 17), chaired two separate back to back marathon meetings on preparations for the Amarnath Yatra.

Jammu, May 18: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Tuesday (May 17), chaired two separate back to back marathon meetings on preparations for the Amarnath Yatra, an annual pilgrimage which is all set to start on Jun 30 after a gap of two years. The pilgrimage is held from the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal.

The first meeting of 45 mins, was to discuss the topics of logistics, health infrastructure, temporary hospital facility, planning for emergency situation, road connectivity and other management of the pilgrimage to the 3,880 meter high cave shrine of Shiva in Jammu and Kashmir. Issues linked to arrangements in case of possible landslide on the pilgrimage route, sudden change of weather were also among the topics discussed in the first meeting.
 
 
 
 
 
The second meeting that started soon after the first meet ended, was related the security of Amarnath Yatra, deployment of security personnel, threat analysis and other points linked to it. Chief Indian Army Gen Manoj Pande, Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Jammu and Kashmir Lt Gov Manoj Sinha, Intelligence Bureau Chief Arvind Kumar attended both the meetings.
 
Besides, personnel from Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF), Jammu and Kashmir Police, Border Road Organization (BRO), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Ministry of Home Affairs were also present for the second meet. Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan as well as National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval were also present for the second meeting.
