Srinagar, May 14: After the assassination of Rahul Bhatt, followed by severe protests of Kashmiri Pandits all around J&K, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced a govt job to wife of the deceased. Terrorists had killed Rahul Bhatt while he was working in his office at Budgam on Thursday (May 12).
According to Lt Governor, the govt has assured to extend financial assistance to the family and bear educational expenses of the daughter of the deceased. Besides a Special Investigative Team (SIT) will be constituted to probe all the aspects of the terror attack.
According to the Lt Governor's tweet, “J&K administration to provide a government job to Rahul Bhat’s wife in Jammu and financial assistance to the family. The government will bear educational expenses of the daughter". He further added through another tweet, "A decision has been taken to constitute a special investigative team to probe all the aspects of the despicable terror attack. The SHO of the concerned police station has also been attached."
Earlier, the Lt Governor had also met the relatives of Rahul Bhat and assured justice to the family. He had said, "In this hour of grief, the govt stands firmly with Rahul’s family. Terrorists and their supporters will have to pay a very heavy price for their heinous act."
The Lt Governor's meeting with Rahul Bhatt's family and the recent announcement comes in line with the incident of the Kashmiri Pandit community flooding the roads of Budgam, in support of Rahul Bhatt's family and demanding action against the increasing incidents of targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.
