From childhood, we have been listening that our freedom fighter, the inspiration for many, and the pride of our nation Subhas Chandra Bose died in a plane crash on 18th August 1945 just 2 years before we got independence. And from there we have been reading many conspiracy theories about Subhas Chandra Bose’s death. But have we ever thought, what can we do to know the truth and let it present in front of the world? No, we didn’t but one man did. Mr. Anuj Dhar. Along with his friend and scholar, Mr. Chandrachur Ghosh, he is working for decades on the research of Subhas Chandra Bose. He is a renowned author and researcher. He has given half of his life to the research on Subhas Chandra Bose. In a recent event hosted by The executive committee of Oxford and Cambridge Society at India International Centre Delhi, Mr. Dhar has presented some shocking facts about Subhas Chandra Bose’s Disappearance.
It was a 2 hours long talk show, where everybody was listening to Mr. Dhar very carefully, As he presented some shocking facts with proof that raises the question that did Subhas Chandra Bose really died in that plane crash?

1. Subhas Chandra Bose died in the plane crash: But if that was the case then there is no such proof as the body was not recognizable (Nothing Much Found). He presented in detail, the letter of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, where it was clearly mentioned that “He won't have enough proof about Subas Chandra Bose’s body however the circumstantial proof says that Subhas Chandra Bose died in that plane crash.”
However, Subhas Chandra Bose’s mortal remains are still in Renkoji Temple Japan. And no DNA test had been performed. But reports suggest that those remains are not of Subhas Ji’s but of a Japanise Soldier. But what is the actual truth? No one knows.
That says, there is no proof of whose body it was, DNA testing is possible but deliberately never performed. If we talk about the circumstantial proofs they aren't solid enough and the people who were with them including Habibur Rehman, their statements show lots of contradiction. In his presentation, Mr. Dhar explained with lots of proof, data, and facts that this theory can not be true. These are all documents he got after a lot of struggle in 2005 when the RTI act came. It was not at all easy to get these documents from the government. However with lots of struggle and teamwork of 5 people they could get this official data. But there are so many hidden secrets that no one knows till now.
The 2006 report presented in Parliament by the Mukherjee Commission had concluded that “Bose did not die in the plane crash, as alleged" by eye-witnesses, including his close confidantes from the INA, and that "the ashes in the Japanese temple were not of Netaji".

2. Subhas Chandra Bose was in Russia and he was killed there: He said that intelligence reports say that it was true that he was in Russia. From multiple sides, the information came that Bose was in Russia. Which our government never talked about. But no proof can confirm that he was killed there. British were never sure of the death of Bose in Russia they never announced it, Russians never said Bose was killed in Russia. In early 1999 when there was VP Sing’s govt. The talks started with Russia on this matter, but no confirmed information came that he was killed there
He made a point that when we do not open our secret files regarding intelligence and security why the Russians will do that? Why will they reveal if the Bose was there? However, no sign or information could confirm that the killing of Bose happened in Russia.
Another shocking reveal he made was, While we got the independence, it was a transfer of power from Britishers to us, and in which there were so many secret clauses. There was an allegation that one of the clauses was, If Bose is found alive and he comes back to India he will be handed over to the Britishers because he was the War Criminal in their eyes. But this was never cleared by the government.
This entire theory says Bose wasn’t killed in Russia however he must have been there for a while.

He was the one with whom many ministers came to meet. He never showed his face nor did he wants to write letters to reveal his handwriting. People used to call him Mahant Ji and He was a man with a great brain.
Everyone was shocked to know that “How can a baba do all the above-mentioned things.” Till 1985 This baba was under the “Gumnami” but after his death when things got collected from his house, people speculated he was “Subhas Chandra Bose” Living a silent life.
People who met him told, “He used to call himself “Your Dead Man”. He used to read newspapers and was well updated politically. Once this mystery came out The Nice of Subhas Babu came forward and asked for an investigation. She felt that it was Subhas Chandra Bose.

Some major facts that Mr. Anuj Dhar Mentioned in his presentation :
1. There were 7 teeth found from the things collected from Gumnami Baba’s residence. DNA testing was performed on these, but government researchers stopped their investigation just after the second teeth. They did not go ahead, because they could not find enough samples for the DNA. Now the question is WHY?
2. There was the absence of Electro Hologram. Which is the most important document for the DNA test.
3. The letters that were found from Gumnami Baba’s residence were sent to the handwriting experts for testing. It was sent to test whether it matches the handwriting of Subhas Babu or not? And the government handwriting expert Dr. Mandal denied it and gave just a 2-page document to say that this handwriting doesn’t match. There was no explanation, no details, However when these samples were sent to two other renowned and top handwriting experts from the world Mr. Kapoor and Mr. Curt Bagget without telling them whose those samples were, they came in front of the media and said that the sample matches. And they are written by the same person.
4. When Subhas Chandra Bose’s Niece filed a complaint about the proper investigation of Gumnami Baba and Subas Chandra Bose’s connection in 1986 Suddenly one PIL came from a man regarding Ram Mandir and Babri Masjid issue and because of that this complaint got sidelined and the entire nation forced on the Ram Mandir issue. It is said that this man was planted. But no one knows the truth.
5. It is said that Subhas Chandra Bose’s family was under surveillance for more than 10 years after his alleged death. The question is WHY? If the government was so sure about Bose’s death, then why they were spying on Bose’s family?
These were some shocking facts that were revealed by Mr. Anuj Dhar on his talk show on a Sunday evening. And these are all proof-based and data-driven facts. The entire audience saw the proof. Now the question remains the same, WHAT IS THE TRUTH and WHEN WILL IT COME IN THE LIMELIGHT?

There were so many seminars and programs like this arranged before as well for awareness. But again the question remains the same WHY the entire nation doesn’t know the truth and a concrete answer to “What Happened To Subhas Chandra Bose”.
