Shanghai, April 11: The strict lockdown seems like will be continued in the coming days as the COVID cases increases. The Chinese mainland reported 1,164 fresh locally transmitted COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, the National Health Commission said on Monday. Of the new locally transmitted cases, 914 were reported in Shanghai, 187 in Jilin, 19 in Guangdong, and the rest of the cases were reported in 12 other provincial-level region.

Though there has been no lockdown in other cities of China, the lockdown continues in the city of 26 million -Shanghai. They are reportedly running out of food, water and other necessities, with many said to be on the brink of starvation.
