New Delhi, Apr 11: Vishwa Hindu Parishad Spokesman Vinod Bansal claimed that Delhi's famous monument 'Qutub Minar' was actually 'Vishnu Stambh'. He said that the medieval monument was built with materials obtained after demolishing 27 Hindu - Jain temples.
According to reports, VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal has said that, "Qutub Minar was actually Vishnu Stambh. Qutub Minar was built with materials obtained after the demolition of 27 Hindu - Jain temples. The superimposed structure was built just to tease the Hindu community."
Bansal has demanded for all 27 temples which were demolished in the past, to be rebuilt again. He said, "We demand that all the 27 temples, which were demolished at the site in the past, be rebuilt and Hindus are allowed to offer prayers there."
The monument has been in news recently because of the statement of National Monuments Authority (NMA) Chairman, Tarun Vijay who said that the Ganesha idols at Qutub Minar in Delhi, have been placed there disrespectfully, hence they should either be removed or reinstalled 'respectfully'. He had said that the issue was raised almost more than a year ago with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
