New Delhi, April 11: Ahead of the 2+2 US-India dialogue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden are going to meet virtually, on Monday at 8.30 PM. As per the Ministry of External Affairs, both leaders will discuss a range of issues including the COVID-19 pandemic, climate crisis, and recent developments in the Indo-Pacific region.
Moreover, MEA said that the two leaders will review ongoing bilateral cooperation and exchange views on recent developments in South Asia, the Indo-Pacific region, and global issues of mutual interest.
The virtual meeting will enable both sides to continue their regular and high-level engagement aimed at further strengthening the bilateral Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, it said.
"President Biden and Prime Minister Modi will discuss cooperation on a range of issues including ending the COVID-19 pandemic, countering the climate crisis, strengthening the global economy, and upholding a free, open, rules-based international order to bolster security, democracy, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Sunday (local time).
The two leaders will also advance ongoing conversations about the development of an Indo-Pacific Economic Framework and delivering high-quality infrastructure. Biden will continue US’ close consultations on the consequences of Russia's brutal war against Ukraine and mitigating its destabilising impact on global food supply and commodity markets, the White House Press Secretary said in a statement.
On Friday, the White House Press Secretary said that the US President believes a partnership with India is one of the most important relationships they have in the world. The US President last spoke to Prime Minister Modi with other Quad leaders in March.
