The ALH is better known by its moniker, Dhruv. The High Commission of India in Mauritius said, "Special gestures are extended to Special partners. Thank you #IAF for deploying C17 Aircraft for transporting the leased ALH Dhruv for Mauritius. Special thanks to crew members of C17. Bon Voyage!"

This export of the ALH Mk III is for the Police Force of that country and is going to further boost India’s efforts in defence exports to Friendly nations. And with the export of ALH, India has further cemented its relationship with the country in the Indian Ocean Region. The contract was inked between State owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the Government of Mauritius in January this year. This is second such export to the country. India had delivered ALH in 2015.

ALH Mk III is a proven 5.5-ton multi-role, multi-mission helicopter developed and manufactured by HAL. This helicopter is used by all three Defence services and the Indian Coast Guard in a variety of roles, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. The 335 ALHs produced so far have logged about 340,000 flying hours.
