'Don't mock Kashmir genocide': Kashmiri Hindus slam Arvind Kejriwal for calling Kashmir Files a 'Jhooti Film'

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on March 24 displayed an extremely insensitive speech in Delhi Assembly on "The Kashmir Files" by mocking it and calling it "Jhooti Film". The CM has mocked the movie after BJP had demanded to make it a tax-free in the state.

 

However, Arvind Kejriwal, giggling said, "If the BJP wants everyone to watch the movie, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri should release it on YouTube so that it is available to everyone for free," he said. He went on to insult the genocide of the Kashmiri Pandits by saying it was "Jhooti Film".

 

 

Responding to this, the Delhi CM was heavily criticized on social media for making fun of the brutal attack on Kashmiri Hindus that took place in 1990. The genocide, which was hidden for a long time, was finally gaining attention due to "The Kashmir Files" directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The Kashmiri Pandits were not ready to take this humiliation by the CM.

 

Pawan Durani, a Kashmiri Hindu activist, said, "If Bitta Karate killed us in open, Arvind Kejriwal killed us in Delhi assembly". Such was rage of the Kashmiri Pandits against the speech spoken by the CM in assembly.

 

 

 

Aditya Raj Kaul, who is also a Kashmiri Pandit and a reputed journalist said that mocking PM Modi, BJP or filmmakers is one thing but denying a historic reality is totally unacceptable and asked him to apologize. "Denying persecution, forced exodus, and genocide of a minority community is a criminal act. I hope you will apologize to the victims of terrorism, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. Hate for Modi, BJP, and filmmaker is one thing but to deny a historic reality is absolutely shocking," he said.

 

 

 

BL Santosh, National General Secretary of BJP, raised questions that why he had earlier made other films tax-free.

 

 

It is pertinent to mention that the Delhi government had no problem in making films like Swara Bhaskar’s Nil Batte Sannata and Taapsee Pannu’s Saand Ki Aankh tax-free but a film on Kashmiri Hindu genocide, which truly deserves to be seen by more people, is being mocked by the ruling party in Delhi.

 

 

 

Others also asked him to put his ads on YouTube instead of releasing them to the media.

 

 

Vijender Gupta, Member of Delhi Legislative Assembly, said, "CM Kejirwal was once mistaken for a official Hindi movie critic. Today, he is lecturing on movie promotions, just because this time the movie brings forth the truth of Kashmiri Hindu genocide. "

 

 

All this hypocrisy and mockery towards "The Kashmir Files" speaks everything about the "Chunavi Hindu".
