New Delhi, Mar 11: After getting disappointed by the Congress Party's performance in the Punjab elections, the party’s senior member and Lok Sabha MP, Jasbir Singh Gill, blamed his own party leaders for the humiliating defeat in Punjab.
Accusing his party leaders, Gill said, infighting, indiscipline, tickets for notes, worker disenchantment, inflated ego, and arrogance of leaders have mauled Congress in the state.
Taking to Twitter, the seemingly disgruntled leader said the Congress high command should review the allotment of tickets and hold those accountable who got tickets in exchange for cash, ignoring meritable Congressmen.
Accusing AICC in-charge Harish Chowdhary and General Secretary Ajay Maken of unfair ticket distribution, Gill said "they pocketed notes, while Opposition pocketed votes" in the state. "Three months ago, Congress was sure of winning Punjab but after the entry of these two for ticket distribution, the party is ruined in the state," he said.
Conceding defeat, the Congress MP further went on to AAP and Bhagwant Singh Mann for the "well deserved victory" in Punjab.
Congress on Thursday saw its biggest defeat in Punjab, where the new entrant Aam Aadmi Party snatched power from it. The party also failed to make a mark in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa.
