USCIRF and its political agenda.

From arranging the interview of former Vice-President of India Hamid Ansari, in which he expressed his criticism over the rising trend of Hindu nationalism; to having the ‘The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom’ (USCIRF) issue unsubstantiated opinions about the Hijab controversy in India; the one organization that stands out in its anti-India agenda is the India American Muslim Council (IAMC). The IAMC has deep connections to another organization, the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) which has strong links to the Pakistani Jammat-e-Islami political party as well as to the terrorist’s groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahidin.

 

 

 

 

However, IAMC is only one of the socio-political fronts that are used in the continuous war of fake propaganda against India. Shaik Ubaid of IAMC is well connected to the American lobbying firm ‘Fidelis Government Relations’ (FGR), headed by Terry Allen who is a long-time associate of Nadine Maenza, the Chairperson of USCIRF. Another organization that is part of coordinated attack against India is the Washington DC based ‘India America Centre for Social Justice’ (IACSJ); which is connected to Pieter Friedrich (who started off a young Baptist Christian missionary) and is currently an associate of known Khalistan proponent Bhajan Singh Bhinder alias Iqbal Chaudhary, who has worked for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI); Equality Labs, founded by American born Thenmozhi Soundararajan, whose parents were from India, and who claims to have been victimized as a Dalit in the USA, by her University of California, Berkley professors; and CJ Werleman, who has been described as a ‘false propogandist and pro-salafi jihadist’ for his whitewashing of ISIS activities in Syria. All these individuals routinely make false allegations against India and spread lies with the hope of fomenting trouble in society. Interestingly, IACSJ has the full support of Nadine Maenza of USCIRF.

 

 

IACSJ is a Washington DC registered non-partisan organization, formally launched on August 15, 2020. It was set up by three Texas based Indian-origin Muslims; Syed Ali, who is vice-president of IAMC (India America Muslim Council) and had openly supported the anti-CAA campaign through large donations, with the other co-founders being Ibrahim Ali & Umme Salma. Detailed investigation by the organization Disinfo Lab, shows that IACSJ is nothing more than a new reincarnation of the IAMC. This change in name and identity might have been forced due to the investigations into the activities of the founder of IAMC, Shaik Ubaid and his links to radical Islamic and terrorist organizations.

 

 

Per its official website, USCIRF is an independent, bipartisan U.S. federal government commission created by the 1998 International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA) that monitors the universal right to freedom of religion or belief abroad, and makes policy recommendations to the President, the Secretary of State, and the US Congress. USCIRF Commissioners are appointed by the President and Congressional leaders of both political parties.

 

 

In reality, however; practising Christian Missionaries have majorly been appointed to this organization, those who look at the issue of religious freedom solely from the Christian view-point. Since 2013, USCIRF has been actively working with Islamist groups like IAMC & ICNA to target India and to have it designated as a country of particular concern by the U.S. Govt through USCIRF. In itself, the USCIRF designation doesn’t matter unless US Congress/ State Department accepts it, but once USCIRF Commissioner Nadine they accept the recommendations, it has serious implications for country’s economy. It can affect FDI (foreign direct investment) as well as other global investments in India, and that seems to be the primary motive of this lobbying effort; to harm its economic prospects.

 

 

Apart from Maenza; its other commissioner Anurima Bhargava, who is the member of Open Society Foundation which was founded by billionaire George Soros, the infamous critic of India, a country he claims to be totalitarian; and USCIRF political analyst John Harrison Akins, who is very close to the Pakistani establishment; have frequented the platforms of IAMC and ICNA.

 

 

The lies perpetuated by the above organizations and the people associated with them have its foundations in the DOTO (documentation of the oppressed) database. DOTO has an interesting background. While this portal (DOTO) claims to collect data since 2014, its archived documents show that data was being collected since 2012, under the umbrella of another organization, viz; United Mass Media which was founded by Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas; who is a member of the terrorist organization SIMI (Student’s Islamic Movement of India), which is banned in India; and also the father of JNU student Umar Khalid, currently in jail under UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act). Ilyas also founded the Welfare Party of India, whose Secretary was Suhail K.K. This Suhail K.K is the developer of the DOTO database, which publishes fake news in the name of minorities issues. What is most surprising, is that this fake DOTO database is used by both, the USCIRF and also by UNHRC. Exactly how this obscure database has managed to reach the upper levels of American political hierarchy and the U.S. controlled UNHRC without a deep examination of the credibility of its data or the people behind it, is a warning sign that the U.S. politicians may have a hidden agenda against India and its economic progress.

 

 

DOTO database is also a part of the Quill Foundation, which has infamous names of the Indian human rights arena associated with it; namely, Harsh Mandar, Justice Kolse-Patil, and Saba Naqvi. Another prominent name is that of Ajit Sahi, who is supposedly a journalist for Tehelka magazine, but also part of the advocacy group of Shaik Ubaid’s IAMC.

 

 

Finally, we have to scrutinize the role of Rashad Hussain, the United States Ambassador-at-large for International Religious Freedom. In this position, he is the principle advisor to the American President and the Secretary of State regarding matters affecting religious freedom abroad. Educated in Ivy league colleges like Yale and Harvard, Hussain is an attorney and a diplomat, acting as senior counsel for the National Security Division in the U.S. Dept. of Justice and as a Director in the U.S. National Security Council.

 

 

Why would an experienced lawyer and diplomat whose responsibility includes the U.S. national security; openly support the consistent lies of USCIRF and the Pakistani sponsored Islamists with links to global terror organizations, many of which have a public stance against the United States, is an intriguing question to ask. Given his background, one can discount the fact that Rashad Hussain might be a gullible idiot. Which leaves the only rational explanation that, despite the various public posturing of the current U.S. President Joe Biden which talks often about ‘close cooperation’ with India; there is a political deception that is being pursued by his administration, which seeks to disable India’s economic progress.
