In a shocking development, Shamsher alias Monu Khan vandalised a Shivling placed inside an ancient Shiv-Hanuman temple in the Bilwari Mohalla, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday (December 18). This incident came to light after police arrested him.
As per the reports, on the night of December 18, the accused entered the temple and vandalized the Shivling inside the temple premises, along with idols of other Hindu Deities. Besides vandalizing Shivling, Shamsher Khan also verbally abused the local devotees around the temple.
Following the incident, members of various Hindu outfits took to the street demanding strict punishment for the accused.
Hours after the search, the accused was arrested, and on inquiry, the accused pleaded guilty. Further investigation is underway. Additional SP Shiv Kumar Singh informed Shamsher Khan was roaming around the temple. He broke the Shivling broke after throwing a stone at it.
