With an aim to shed light on the sensitive issues of human trafficking prevailing in God's own country, the filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah has released the teaser of 'The Kerala Story' which will give you chilies down to the spine.
The movie narrates gut-wrenching stories of 32000 Hindu and Christian girls who were converted and trafficked to the Islamic State from Kerala.
In the teaser one such victim, played by Adah Sharma, wanted to be a nurse but was kidnapped from her home and is currently being held as an ISIS terrorist in prison in Afghanistan. Here is the teaser of the film:
The teaser opens with a girl saying, "My name was Shalini Unnikrishnan and I wanted to become a nurse and serve humanity. Now I am Fatima Ba, an Islamic State terrorist in a jail in Afghanistan. I am not alone. There are 32,000 girls like me who have been converted and buried in the deserts of Syria and Yemen. A deadly game is being played to convert normal girls into dreaded terrorists in Kerala and that too in the open. Is there nobody to stop them? This is my story and the story of those 32,000 girls. This is The Kerala Story."
Earlier, in march, the first teaser of the movie had been released on Youtube. The trailer opens with a speech by former Kerala Chief Minister, V S Achuthanandan, in which he is heard saying that the plan of the Popular Front of India is to make Kerala a Muslim state in the next 20 years. It then speaks about the plight of thousands of girls and claims that many have been trafficked to the Islamic State and other Islamic war zones in the past 10 years.
As per the statistics shown in the video, since 2009, nearly 32,000 girls from Kerala and Mangaluru, from Hindu and Christian families, have been converted to Islam. Most of the girls were sent to Islamic countries for terrorist activities.
The Kerala Story is produced by Sunshine pictures and produced by Vipul Shah and Aashin A Shah. Sudipto Sen will be handling the direction of the film.
