Diwali is the festival where you spend a lot of time with your family, give a little break from your work routine, and eat lots of good and yummy food. However, getting back to a productive work routine can be a difficult task. And it can take a toll on your mental situation, make you stressed out, and make you feel confused as well. So how to avoid this?
I have a list of 5 things to do, to get back to the productive routine after the festivals…!
Here are they :
1. Put it down on paper: Write on paper what is in your priority right now. What are the immediate tasks that you need to perform, how are you going to allocate the time to each and every task, and what is your action plan to achieve it? Put everything on paper, you will get a lot of clarity.
2. Create an action plan: Now that you know what is your top priority list, create an action plan accordingly. Make sure you create the plan according to what suits you, don’t follow others, and don’t follow the techniques that don’t suit you and your lifestyle. For example, if you know that your work timings are 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM you won’t be able to sleep at 10:00 PM automatically you won’t be able to get up at 5:00 AM. So make sure you create your action plan according to your needs, routine, and what suits you.
3. Set at least half an hour to an hour aside between your work time for yourself: Taking rest is important. If you jump on to the exhausting work, you might not be able to sustain this routine, so you can take small 10-15 mins breaks between each task, or you can keep aside an hour for yourself between your work time, and do what makes you relaxed and energized for the work. This way you will be able to finish tasks faster and perform better.
4. Set time for your tasks according to your energy: Time management is a lot more related to energy management. So make sure that you allocate your time according to your energy levels. If your energy is low, you will take more time to finish a task, on the other hand, if your energy is high, you will be able to perform better and finish tasks faster with better results. So channelize your energy. Do the most difficult and time taking tasks in your high-energy hours.
5. Take it slow: You need not jump into this productive routine just the next day when your vacation ends, you can take one step at a time, slowly build the routine and take 2-3 days time to get back to your productive routine. If you try to go all in at once, might be possible you will fall quickly, and then you will need to start again from the scratch. Better take one step at a time. And slowly build the habits and routines.
Getting back to a productive routine after the relaxed vacation of festivals is the toughest task. Even a child feels the same when he joins the school the next day when the Diwali vacation ends. It is a human phycology. We just need to focus on our goals, energy, and priorities. If we do that, things become easier. Was this helpful? Let us know in the comments below.
