Mumbai, September 30: Amazon Prime Video debuted the trailer for Sardar Udham, which stars Vicky Kaushal as the ‘revolutionary’ Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer - the former lieutenant governor of Punjab, on March 13, 1940, in London. The assassination was in retaliation for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre which took place in 1919.
The trailer shows the glimpses of Udham Singh's operation – right from the planning level till the execution. He is seen coming to England under a false identity. He follows his prey across London, plans and then carried out the assassination.
The trailer also shows glimpses of Steven Spielberg's Munich and Bryan Singer's Valkyrie - both were about the assassination attempts of high-value targets.
It is directed by Shoojit Sircar and stars Shaun Scott, Stephen Hogan, Banita Sandhu in supporting roles. The film is set to release on the OTT platform on October 16.
