New Delhi, Sept 30: After meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval at his residence in New Delhi. On Wednesday, Singh had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the ongoing farmers' agitation and urged him to resolve the crisis by immediately repealing the three farm laws.
It should be noted that Singh and his colleagues had denied that meeting BJP leaders were on his agenda during the Delhi visit. His meeting with HM Shah led to the rise in speculations that Amarinder Singh is going to join the BJP ahead of assembly polls next year.
Singh said in a tweet that he had urged the central government to repeal the laws and end the deadlock between farmer unions and the government. He wrote, “Met Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji in Delhi. Discussed the prolonged farmers’ agitation against #FarmLaws & urged him to resolve the crisis urgently with repeal of the laws & guarantee MSP, besides supporting Punjab in crop diversification.”
The meeting comes at a time when there has been complete chaos within Punjab Congress party. Singh had resigned from the post of chief minister. He had said that he could not continue with the humiliation he was facing in the party.
The political madness in Punjab had started due to the appointment of Navjot Singh Sidhu as the president of the Punjab Congress in July despite opposition from Amarinder Singh. Howevr, Sidhu had resigned from the post of Pradesh Congress chief on September 28, which the party high command has not accepted yet.

He had said, "The collapse of a man's character stems from the compromise corner. I can never compromise on Punjab's future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab. Therefore, I hereby resign as the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. I will continue to serve the Congress".
