Yavatmal, Sept 28: In Maharashtra, a state transport bus that was reportedly carrying 20 passengers onboard, got washed away into a river near Umarkhed Taluka in Yavatmal district.

The incident took place around 8.30 am when the ST bus was going to Pusad from Umarkhed. Due to heavy rains at night, water kept flowing from the Nala bridge at Dahagaon. According to the reports, the driver of the bus was warned several times about the heavy rains but he ignored them and went ahead. With people looking near the bridge, the bus was swept away in the floodwaters.
 
 
A large amount of floodwater was flowing, even so, the ST driver drove the bus forward so it sank in the flood waters. The bus was carrying six passengers, including the driver. Locals rescued two passengers and one died. Efforts are being made to rescue other passengers.
 
 
On the other hand, EGS minister Sandipanrao Bhumre, who is the guardian minister of Yavatmal said that collector, tehsildar, superintendent of police are reaching the spot.
