New Delhi, August 24: Booking a vaccination slot is going to be easier as now the Covid-19 vaccine beneficiaries can book their slot through the MyGov Corona Helpdesk on WhatsApp.
Users can now locate their nearest COVID-19 vaccination center through the helpdesk available on WhatsApp and book their vaccine appointments with ease.
Union Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya gave the information about the development. He said that the popular messaging app in association with MyGov Corona HelpDesk will allow users to locate their nearest vaccination centers and book an appointment.
Taking to Twitter, Mandaviya wrote on Tuesday, “Paving a new era of citizen convenience. Now, book COVID-19 vaccine slots easily on your phone within minutes."
The chief executive officer (CEO) of WhatsApp Inc also put out a similar message. "Today we’re partnering with @MoHFW_INDIA and @mygovindia to enable people to make their vaccine appointments via WhatsApp. Spread the word," Cathcart tweeted
How to Use:-
Step 1 > To contact MyGov Corona Helpdesk chatbot, users need to send ‘Book Slot’ to WhatsApp number 9013151515.
Step 2 > Then the user will receive a six-digit one-time password on the respective mobile phone number.
Step 3 > After sending the OTP, the User will have to enter their preferred date, pin code, and vaccine type in the chat box.
Step 4 > User will receive the confirmation of the slot booking on your phone.
All users can follow this sequence to get a confirmation of their center and the day of their vaccine appointment. Apart from booking slots, WhatsApp users who have been vaccinated will also be able to download their vaccination certificates through this helpdesk. They will have to send a ‘vaccine certificate’ message on the helpdesk number and will receive the certificates on their phones.
Earlier on August 5, MyGov and WhatsApp had introduced the ability for users to download vaccine certificates from the chatbot; and so far, over 32 lakh certificates have been downloaded by users across the country.
