Kabul, August 10: Amid the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan, India on Tuesday began evacuating its personnel from the city of Mazar-e-Sharif. India has a Consulate General in Mazar-e-Sharif.
The Consulate General posted on Twitter that a special flight would be evacuating the personnel from the city today and advised that any Indian nationals living in and around the city should also leave for India on the plane amid the Taliban’s advances in the Central Asian country.
The consulate has asked Indian citizens living in and around Mazar-e-Sharif to immediately inform its personnel about their full name and other details required to board the special flight. The consulate has released phone numbers as well on which the details can be sent via the WhatsApp messaging platform.
“A special flight is leaving from Mazar-e-Sharif to New Delhi. Any Indian nationals in and around Mazar-e-Sharif are requested to leave for India in the special flight scheduled to depart late today evening.
“Indian citizens desiring to leave by special flight should immediately convey their full name, passport number, date of expiry by WhatsApp at the following numbers: 0785891303, 0785891301.”
