Mumbai, July 03: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, have invited Bollywood actor Vidya Balan and producers Ekta Kapoor, mother Shobha Kapoor, and Shrihari Sathe to vote for Osars next year. They will be the part of 'Class Of 2021'.
Yesterday Academy released the list of new members, and they added Vidya and Ekta to their list for the stupendous contributions by the two ladies in the field of cinema and art. According to the Academy, Vidya Balan was recognised for her performances in Tumhari Sulu and Kahaani. Ekta Kapoor has been recognised for Dream Girl and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, while her mother Shobha has been recognised for Udta Punjab and The Dirty Picture. Meanwhile, noted short films' producer, Sathe has been recognised for The Sweet Requiem, It Felt Like Love movies.
These four will be among the 395 new members of artists and executives who have been invited as well. Apart from the Oscar winners Yuh-Jung Youn, Emerald Fennell, and Florian Zeller will also be joining them among others like Henry Golding, Vanessa Kirby, Robert Pattinson, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
The "Class Of 2021" comprises 46 percent new women invitees, 53 percent 39% members of ethnic representation, and 53 percent of international members from 49 countries other than the USA. Every year, the academy invited new members to vote for Oscars.
