NIA arrests two LeT terrorists in Darbhanga Railway station blast case

Hyderabad, July 01: National Investigation Agency probing into the Darbhanga Railway station blast case has nabbed two key accused Lashkar-e-Taiba Terrorists from Hyderabad. According to an official release, NIA has arrested two key accused named, Imran Malik and Mohd Nasir Khan. Both the accused originally hails from Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the NIA, the primary investigation has revealed a trans-national conspiracy hatched by top operatives of terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba to execute terror acts across India and cause large-scale damage to life and property.
 
Khan and Malik were also in touch with Pakistan-based handlers of LeT over encrypted communication platforms, the NIA said. The investigative agency said, Khan and his brother on the instructions of LeT, fabricated an incendiary IED and packed it in a parcel of cloth and booked the same in a long-distance train from Secunderabad to Darbhanga.
 
 
The low-intensity blast at the station was aimed at causing an explosion and fire in a running passenger train resulting in huge loss of lives and property. The arrested persons will be produced before a Special NIA Court in Patna after obtaining transit from the competent court.
 
 
The case pertains to the explosion of a parcel at the Darbhanga railway station on June 17. The parcel was booked at Secunderabad and had arrived by the Secunderabad-Darbhanga Express. The NIA had taken over the probe on June 24.
