Misuse of SC reservation by Christian Convert! BJP's Kollipara candidate Mandru Sarala Devi files complaint against Kathera Heny Christina

How do you see Christian conversions? More, how would you see misuse of caste for slated purpose? In a report to misuse of SC reservation by one of the Christian converts in Hyderabad, it is reported that Kathera Heny Christina (Christian with 4 children), Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party's ZPTC Candidate from Kollipara, Guntur-AP is contesting elections from SC Reserved Seat, further violating Sec19(3) of AP Panchayat Raj Act 1994 by hiding names of other 2 children in Election affidavit.

 

In a series of tweets today, Sunil Deodhar, National Secretary BJP, Co-Incharge Andhra Pradesh noted that Kathera Christina is the wife of K Suresh Kumar, who is the president of Harvest India, an International Christian Evangelical Organization having the FCRA license and is involved in large scale Christian Conversion Activities in Andhra Pradesh.

 

 

In a detailed letter to the State Election Commissioner, Mandru Sarala Kumari who has recently contested for the elections of ZPTC Member from Kollipara SC Reserved Constituency, has sought disqualification of Kathera Heny Christina's candidature. "Christina is a Christian and represents a Christian Ministries named ‘Harvest India’ which is involved Christian religious activities at International Level. This is a criminal activity of suppressing facts and giving wrong information in Election Affidavit and misusing SC reservation benefits for political benefits", letter read.

 

 

As per the Constitutional (Scheduled Castes) Order of the President 1950, the person who belongs to SC community obviously will not be considered as SC if he/she converts his/her religion to Christianity or Islam. In this case, Kathera Heny Christina is not supposed to hold SC Status anymore and as a result she is not entitled to contest from the SC Reserved constituency. "By this act she wilfully and knowingly violated the 1950 Constitution Order and cheated the Government authorities by hiding the fact that she is a Christian", it added.

 

 

 

Further, it is significant to note that Kathera Heny Christina has four children and Section 19(3) of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act 1994 clearly says that a person who is having more than two children shall be disqualified for election or for continuing as a member. Kather Heny Christina had earlier filed Election Affidavit during 2014 General Assembly Elections and contested from Tadikonda Constituency (SC Reserved – Guntur) on behalf of YSR Congress Party. In her Election Affidavit she did not disclose the details of their children and their whereabouts whereas, in her current nomination as contestant for Kollipara ZPTC elections, she mentioned only 2 Children by suppressing the fact that they have 4 Children.

 

 

 

 

On July 15 last year, the SC Reservation Parirakshana Samiti is said to have made a formal complaint with Guntur District Joint Collector against Kathera Heny Christina and Kathera Suresh Kumar along with evidences stating that the said persons are concerned to Christianity but still enjoying the reservation benefits which are meant for the people of Scheduled Castes

 

 

Earlier Kumar has also made personal attacks on the Prime Minister on international platforms. While speaking at Mission Conference 2018 held at Biola University, USA in the year 2018, Mr. Suresh Kumar had made following derogatory statements, “Right now, we are under Hindu rule. Our Prime Minister, he is a bad guy. He doesn’t want any Christians in India. He wants to make India as only Hindu country. So many pastors killed in last 5 years. Many missionaries, they send them out. There is unrest, turmoil. Pastors are killing, Churches are burning. The government is not doing anything. Brutal mentality, we are struggling. We do not know what is going happen tomorrow to Christianity in India, to Church in India but I am believing powerful god on our side. Next year we have election, please pray. I don’t want this party to come back. This guy is doing so much bad for Christianity”.

 

 

The Legal Rights Protection Forum says that this is a serious allegation made before an international audience in USA. As usual, no places, dates or specific instances of Christian persecution are mentioned. Wild allegations are flung at the audience with the clear intention of maligning the government and Hindus, project them as intolerant savages who are attacking Christians. If Christian religious workers running foreign funded evangelical organizations are able to obtain Hindu SC community certificates, isn't it injustice of the Highest Order to the genuine Scheduled Caste people?
