Indian defence forces induct new batch of officers from NDA, OTA and INA; Pulwama Martyr's wife Lt. Nitika Dhoundiyal passes out from OTA

New Delhi, May 29: The three training institutes of Indian defence forces; National Defence Academy (NDA), Officers' Training Academy (OTA) Chennai and Indian Naval Academy (INA) have freshly inducted batches of newly trained officers in the Indian army and navy, on May 29.

The 140th course of the National Defence Academy (NDA) passing out parade for spring term 2021 took place in Pune with over 300 cadets passing out of the prestigious institution on the culmination of three years of rigorous Military Training. The Indian Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh was invited as the Reviewing Officer for the ceremonial Passing Out Parade of the institute.
 
 
 
 

Among the cadets, both gentlemen and ladies, that passed out from OTA Chennai, was Pulwama Martyr's wife Lieutenant Nitika Kaul Dhoundiyal. The widow of late Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, who was killed in the 2019 Pulwama terrorist attack, donned the Indian Army uniform for the first time as she joined the force to serve the nation. A tweet by PRO Udhampur-Ministry of Defence said "#MajVibhutiShankarDhoundiyal, made the Supreme Sacrifice at #Pulwama in 2019, was awarded SC (P). Today his wife Nitika Kaul dons #IndianArmy uniform; paying him a befitting tribute. At the Indian Naval Academy at Kerala's Ezhimala, trainees comprising midshipmen of 100 INA Course, Cadets of 30A Naval Orientation Course (Extended) and 32 Naval Orientation Course (Regular) graduated as Officers on successful completion of their ab-initio training. The graduating courses were administered the Oath of Allegiance by Rear Admiral A N Pramod, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, INA. Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh, FOCINC ENC was the Reviewing Officer for the POP on 29 May 2021.
