Ministry of AYUSH signs MoU to introduce 'Ayurveda' disciplines in 'Veterinary Science'

New Delhi April 09: In a bid to introduce the concept of Ayurveda and its allied disciplines into veterinary sciences, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying inked MoU with the Ministry of AYUSH.
According to the government, this cooperation will help the AYUSH ministry in developing a regulatory mechanism for the use of Ayurveda in the veterinary sector for the benefit of animal health, the livestock owners’ community, and the society at large.
Apart from that, the MoU will also focus on capacity building in related areas through training. It further explores marketing possibilities for herbal veterinary medicines on a sustainable basis. It will provide services for the cultivation, conservation, and preservation of medicinal plants.

The cooperation will develop herbal veterinary education programs. It will create awareness among agro-farmers and dairy farmers about the importance and utilization of herbal veterinary medicine and the cultivation of medicinal herbs.
