The surge in COVID-19 cases in India and that particularly in the state of Maharashtra is worrisome. The situation is so worse to say that patients have to suffer because of lack of oxygen facility, ventilators and hospital management. In such difficult times, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has set itself in motion serving the society in need.
While COVID-19 patients and their family members are facing obstacles to reach the hospitals, it is in Maharashtra's Jalna district that the RSS sevaks have found out a unique way to settle the cause. The 'RSS Corona Aapatti Nivaran Samiti' in Jalna has initiated the idea of 'Auto Ambulance'.
As reported to newsbharati.com by the Vishwa Samvad Kendra, Devgiri, the 'Auto-rickshaw ambulance' is a tie up between RSS sevaks and the rickshaw drivers who help patients reach hospitals in time. The said ambulance also has the facility of oxygen inbuilt in it. "Today we see its difficult for people to get ambulance. Further if they get, finances become the problem. These auto ambulances are economical option where patients only have to pay Rs 400 for ambulance and Rs 50 for oxygen", informed one of the members.
The RSS workers are helping people find beds, reach hospitals and vaccination centres, especially those who are old and have no one to look after them. The RSS COVID Samiti, the Janakalyan Samiti, the Janakalyan Raktapedhi and few other organisations are serving the society today when in need. It is through these organisations that people are easily accessible to oxygen supply machines, wheelchairs, commode chairs, folding walkers, walking sticks, etc
