New Delhi, Mar 1: The Union Ministry of Tourism and its field offices are organizing and supporting different tourism promotion events under 'Dekho Apna Desh' Campaign showcasing various tourism assets and products of the country with an aim to create awareness among the stake holders and citizens, since the country is presently in the unlock phase. The central ministry has organized various initiatives under the campaign through its regional branches in Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Assam, Telangana as well as Uttar Pradesh.

Indian Ministry of Tourism’s Office at Kochi, in association with the Kerala Hone stays and Tourism Society (HATS), had recently organized a workshop for sensitizing home stay unit owners on Ministry of Tourism’s scheme for home stay units. The workshop also imparted information on NIDHI and SAATHI certification which was specially introduced for the hospitality industry. In another initiative, India tourism Kochi, in association with District Tourism Promotion Council Ernakulam, supported the 13th edition of week-long festival cultural extravaganza of Ulsavam, with the intent of reviving the intangible cultural heritage of Kerala. The festival showcased 28 art forms in Kerala and involved around 200 artists.
In Bengaluru, the ministry's branch office had organized a Domestic Tourism Road Show, in order to showcase the tourism potential of Buddhist Circuits and pilgrimage destinations in Uttar Pradesh. Around 16 Tour Operators from Buddhist Inbound Tourism Fraternity (BITF) of Uttar Pradesh participated in the Roadshow and B2B Meetings with Karnataka's Travel Agents and Tour Operators, during the event.
The Mumbai office of India tourism, had participated in India International Travel Mart (IITM) held in Pune, where varied tourism products of India were showcased, along with dissemination of information to the visitors. The offices of Hyderabad and Varanasi had jointly organized the 'Visit Uttar Pradesh' Roadshow in Hyderabad, where 17 travel trade representatives from Buddhist Inbound Tourism Fraternity (BITF) participated with Travel Traders from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The Delhi Office had organized a field trip for the morale boosting of Regional Level Guides to Sundar Nursery wherein 70 guides participated. A quiz contest was also organized on the life of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. In Guwahati, a workshop on River Tourism was organized to emphasize the importance of Cruise Tourism in North-East Region of the country, that was attended by 35 stakeholders.
