Mumbai, February 26: After getting a threat during the farmer's protest, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) found an abandoned vehicle with 20 explosive gelatin sticks near Mukesh Ambani's house Antila. The Mumbai police have lodged a complaint against this incident.
"Police have registered the case under Indian Penal Code sections 286 (negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance), 465 (punishment for forgery), 473 (making or possessing counterfeit seal), 506(2) (criminal intimidation, if the threat is to cause death or grievous hurt), 120(B) (criminal conspiracy)... Section four of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908, (punishment for attempt to cause an explosion, or for making or keeping explosive with intent to endanger life or property) has also been included in the FIR," a police spokesperson said.
As per the police, Mukesh Ambani's security personnel spotted a suspicious green color Scorpio car on Thursday afternoon. Following this, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad reached the spot examined the vehicle.
Upon examining the vehicle, the authorities found some explosive material Gelatin inside. As per the information, the officials said that it is not an assembled explosive device. Police confirmed that the total weight of the explosive is 2.60 kg. Apart from the gelatin sticks the police also found the letter in the car. However, the letter has not been released in public yet. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police is further investigating the matter.
During the primary investigation, police found many number plates inside the car, which match the registration numbers of cars in Ambani's cavalcade. Police said, "CCTV footages of the area revealed that the SUV with a couple of unidentified persons in it was driven and parked beside a tree on Carmichael Road at around 1 am." The suspicious persons seemed to have fled after deserting the SUV there, but strangely, it was noticed only after another 12 hours.
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh also informed, "A car-carrying Gelatin has been found near Mukesh Ambani's residence in Mumbai today. Mumbai Police Crime Branch is investigating the whole matter."
Following the shocking incident, Mumbai Police has deployed its security personnel outside popular businessman Mukesh Ambani's house. Moreover, the police have formed more than eight teams, which are tracing the origin of the car through CCTV footages across signals and societies.
