Addressing the state BJP executive, Bommai said that the Karnataka government will free Hindu temples from laws and rules that require the temple managements to seek permission from the govt to utilise their income for development. He further said, "Our government will bring in a law to this effect before the budget session. We will free our temples from laws and conditions."

The CM said that under the new law, there will only be some regulations for the functioning of the temples, and there will be no government control over them. He said that the temples will be allowed to manage their affairs.

"Temples that have suffered under the hands of officers and bureaucrats will be freed. They will from now look after their development. We are planning to bring in a new bill in the next cabinet wherein temples will be freed from state control. Except for regulation, they will manage their affairs," the CM said.

The Chief Minister also stated that once the anti-conversion bill becomes law, the government will form a special task force to implement it.

Bommai also said that the government has decided to develop Anjanadri in Koppal district ( the birthplace of Lord Hanuman) at an international level." After the Ram Mandir inauguration [in Ayodhya], we will get this development work also inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We will convert it into a holy site," he added.
