Thiruvananthapuram, November 15: The famous Sabrimala temple in God’s own country, Kerala, is known for its sacred and one of the most popular pilgrimage sites in the world. It is estimated that over 40 to 50 million devotees visit this pilgrimage center every year. The pilgrim is one of the major attractions in South India and it depicts the importance of Hindu culture and Hindu heritage through its story. But, off lately, the Travancore Devaswom Board has jolted itself in the controversy citing major questions on its authenticity and legitimacy.
Drawing the attention of millions, a Twitter handle named A Hawk-Eye tweeted a very interesting yet jaw-dropping incident that questions the credibility of the Prasadam Board. The tweet read as, “Looks like Travancore Devaswom Board has not just outsourced traditional prasad prep but also has awarded the tender, who is importing it now from UAE-based Al Zahaa. Interestingly this Ajman co. has recently been established (Jan 2020). Btw, Gulf food co. has to be Halal certified.”
It looks like Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) awarded a tender to a UAE-based Muslim entity named Al Zahaa. Apparently, the Ajman Company was established recently in January 2020. This looks nothing less than a scam as it clearly focuses on how the nexus between the board officials and traders work to gain commercial benefits from the temple Prasad.
Well, This is not the first time TBD found on the wrong foot in such tendering controversies, the similar tender was awarded to Elite India Export (owner by Muslim) in 2007. The influence of the communist government is not something new. All temples/boards must be free from government control.
The Sabarimala Prasad is something devotees crave for ages. Citing limited editions or non-availability, many devotees wait for a long time to avail this prasadam. The unholy nexus of traders and the officials clearly emphasizes the anti-Hindu acts against the people, as they are hurting the sentiments of the people.
