Mumbai, October 04: Sending the shock waves in the 'Mannat House' and Bollywood, Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan during the raid on a rave party that was being held on board a cruise ship.
NCB has booked Aryan for the consumption of charas. NCB nabbed him under section 8C, 20B, 27 read with 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Aryan Khan’s phone has been seized and being scanned by authorities.
Khan was detained along with Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohawk Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker, Gromit Chopra, and Arbaaz Merchant. They were put into official arrest after a 15-hour-long interrogation.
Giving them information about the raid, NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede said, "NCB had input, after that, we executed it in a professional manner. We have recovered drugs as well. We have followed up leads as well. Soon more probes will happen."
He added Eight persons were detained for questioning by the NCB allegedly in connection with the drug seizure on the cruise ship. He added, “Khan and others were on the cruise ship where the agency busted a rave party.”
Hours after his arrest, Khan was produced before a metropolitan magistrate's court which sent to NCB custody till Monday for further interrogation. Representing Khan, advocate Satish Maneshinde said that his client Khan was a special invitee and did not even have a boarding pass. He also claimed that no contraband was found on Khan. According to some reports, Khan is going to apply for bail. The star kid's bail hearing will be held today afternoon.
On Saturday, NCB busted a high-profile drug party on a cruise ship en route from Mumbai to Goa. Following the tip-off, 22 NCB officials “posing as passengers" boarded the Cordelia cruise ship. Once the ship sailed off the coast of Mumbai, NCB officials swung into action and launched the raids, and detained 7-8 individuals, who were seen taking drugs. NCB has recovered 3 gms of cocaine, 21 gm of charas (hashish), 22 pills of MDMA (ecstasy), 5gm mephedrone, and cash worth ₹1.33 lakh at International Cruise Terminal, Green Gate Mumbai. The recovery also included Rs 1.33 lakh in cash.
The NCB chief SN Pradhan said that the bureau is looking at a 'Bollywood connection' and a larger nexus of narcotics. "There is a Bollywood connection and we are investigating all angles of the case. We are looking at the main supplier and the entire cartel behind this drugs case," Pradhan said, adding that the agency will "carry out its probe in a professional manner".
Meanwhile, hours after the incident actor Salman Khan visited Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai home around midnight on Sunday. Apart from Salman, Sunil Shetty also came out in support of Aryan Khan saying, "When a raid is conducted at a place, many people are taken into custody. We assume that a particular boy must have consumed it (drugs). The process is on. Let's give that child a breather. Let real reports come out."
