Mumbai, October 25: Narcotics Control Bureau's / NCB Mumbai’s Zonal Director, Sameer Wankhede, on Monday said that he was ready for a probe into the allegations made against him, adding that him and his family, including his sister and deceased mother were being targeted.
Wankhede on Sunday approached the Mumbai police commissioner, seeking protection from likely legal action “being planned”, against him by unknown persons to falsely frame him concerning an alleged vigilance related issue.
Nawab Malik's tweet comes a day after Wankhede wrote to Mumbai Police and sought protection from legal action fearing "being framed" falsely with "ulterior motives". Wankhede wrote claiming threats of jail and dismissal - seen as referring to Malik's remark that he would soon lose his job.
In his letter addressed to Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale, Wankhede, stated that he came to know that some “precipitate” legal action for falsely implicating him is being planned by unknown persons in relation to the alleged vigilance related issue in NCB Cr. N. 94/2021.
This was after a witness in the cruise ship drugs case made some allegations of bribery and misconduct against Sameer Wankhede. The witness said that a new twist in the incident that has made national news following the arrest of actor Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan.
