Ladakh, Oct 25: A police officer from Ladakh representing the tourist wing of the Ladakh Police has a video message for the tourists. He has urged them "respect nature and Mother Earth" and not litter when they visit tourist spots like Lake Pangong in the union territory.
In the video, Sonam said that they were at Pangong lake, one of the cleanest lakes in the world. However, he highlighted that many of the people who visit the beautiful place throw plastic waste on the banks of the lake and urged people to avoid throwing plastic on the banks of the lake and maintain the sanctity and law of the land.
The police officer said, "It's my humble request from the people of Ladakh and from the tourist police under the guidance of our senior officers. You're visiting such a beautiful place but many people are coming here and littering and throwing plastics, even on the bank of the lake."
He added, "I, as a policeman and human, request you not to do this. Please maintain the sanctity, respect the law of the land. Respect nature and Mother Earth." Later, he said, "This is the land of morality and meditation. We welcome you all in big numbers with a sense of 'Atithi Devo Bhava' [Guest is God]."
