On January 15, The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) started a nationwide fundraising campaign for the construction of Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. As the massive drive started, President Ramnath Kovind donated Rs 5 lakh as a contribution towards the construction. It should be noted that Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has said that it will take financial aid only from Lord Rama followers and will not use government money to construct the grand temple.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also donated Rs 1 lakh as a contribution to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
According to the trust, the temple will be built by adhering to the country's ancient and traditional construction techniques. It will also be built in a manner to sustain earthquakes, storms, and other natural calamities. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also accelerated the process of construction of the temple by worshiping and performing Bhoomi Pujan in Ayodhya on 5 August.
